Test Program
About the Course
The Selective Trial Test Program is a comprehensive program that provides students with the preparation required to succeed in the Selective High Schools Placement Test. This program is designed to assist students practise their management of time and work on their speed and accuracy under exam conditions.
Students will attempt all trial test papers in one day, including Reading, Writing, Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills. Students will gain invaluable test-taking experience, providing them with more than enough practice to perfect essential test taking skills.

After each class, students will immediately receive exam results, an estimated Selective Exam Mark and student ranking.

As with all our writing classes, students will receive comprehensive editing and teacher feedback. Students will also receive a high-scoring exemplars each week.

All our teachers are familiar with the new format of the Selective Schools Test and understand the difficulties and challenges faced by students preparing for the test.
Course Structure
Throughout the school term, students will sit a weekly course specifically designed to mimic the level of difficulty in the Selective Schools Placement Test.
Students will sit four exams as follows:
- Writing (30 minutes)
- Reading (40 minutes)
- Mathematical Reasoning (40 minutes)
- Thinking Skills (40 minutes)
After each test is completed, teachers will provide in-depth feedback and explain questions step by step. Teachers will thoroughly review questions to ensure all students completely understand.
Aside from writing, all exams are computer marked and a weekly results report is generated for students. The writing exam is individually marked by teachers and is returned to students on the day, with personalised feedback and corrections. To further assist students with writing, students will also receive an exemplary writing piece.
Students will also receive an estimated Selective Exam Score out of 120 calculated from their exam results. Student rankings are also provided each week.
