About the Course

Our Year 2 EMT Course focuses on developing the knowledge, skills and understanding required for students to succeed in English, Mathematics and Thinking Skills. In particular, priority is given to literacy and numeracy development, as the early development of these skills gives students a significant head start for future learning.

Most importantly, we ensure our small classes are interactive, engaging and challenging. Our approachable and dedicated teachers work hard to ensure all students actively participate in class activities and challenge students to think critically and creatively.

What do we offer?

Quality Learning Material

Comprehensively covers a variety of mathematical, thinking skills and reading concepts, practice questions and homework exercises.

Dedicated Teachers

Our experienced teachers aim to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each individual student whilst facilitating group discussions and an interactive classroom.

Mathematical Reasoning

Students will develop a robust understanding of basic mathematical concepts like numbers, fractions and decimals, in addition to challenging problem solving based questions.

Critical Thinking

Students will learn how to analyse facts and arguments to form a judgment by understanding the logical connection between ideas and evaluating information.

Course Structure

Each lesson, students will receive a booklet containing all learning material and homework for the week. Teachers are responsible for teaching fundamental skills and concepts each week, and guiding students in their completion of all class exercises. Students will receive step-by-step explanations and will have the opportunity to ask questions.

  • English: Our English curriculum guides students beginning to read and write by developing their grammatical understanding, spelling and expanding their vocabulary.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Students will develop a concrete understanding of numbers, symbols, patterns and order. Students also learn fundamental mathematical symbols and skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Students will solve basic mathematical questions and will also begin to solve harder problem-solving questions.
  • Thinking Skills: Our updated materials will have a combination of general ability and thinking skills, focusing on logical problem solving. Students will learn to identify different question types and apply various techniques to solve them.
